You will never know the importance of forgivness until you hear Kay Charlotte speak about it. This weeks topic was Spiritual Warfare and I had no idea how impactful this week would be. My ignorance had me at a place where I thought this week would be all about constant prayer and demonic attacks or something, but nope! It was all about forgiveness and relationship. Want to know the whole enchilada (as Kay Charlotte would say) to spiritual warfare? Okay, I'll tell you. When we live in right relationship with God, others, and ourselves, then we have authority to subdue and rule. And we cannot be in right relationship with others if we are withholding forgiveness. Ugh guys I wish all of you were here to learn, grow, and get mind blown with me.
So lectures this week rocked my socks off, but so did Thursday night!!! On Thursday my DTS went to the Las Vegas strip to fundraise. Some people had signs, some sang, some acted as speakers/informers, all to raise awareness to the injustice of human trafficking and raise money. We ended up getting $138.58, which in itself is pretty cool. HOWEVER, that is not the best part. Because we are all Jesus freaks (for good reason) (Jesus is freaking cool), we decided to see if $138.58 could be a bible verse and since the Book of Psalms is the only book in the bible that has more than 138 chapters, we went there to chapter 38 and read verses 5-8, since it only has 8 verses. AND GUESS WHAT IT READ.
5 and they shall sing of the ways of the Lord, for great is the glory of the Lord. 6 For though the Lord is high, he regards the lowly, but the haughty he knows from afar.
7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and your right hand delivers me. 8 The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.
Is that not the coolet thing ever? It literally describes us singing, His right hand delivering us, how He will fulfill his purpose for us (going on outreach), and His faithful love for us. Reason #957340957340 why I love Jesus.
Anywho, we also had Thanksgiving on Wedneday and we invited everyone in our neighborhood, and I mean everyone. We had around 150 people show up, it was amazing. Pimps, prostitutes, homeless men and women, children, old people, black, white, you name it. They were there, all coming together to sit down and have a family meal. There was a ridiculous amount of people there and I never felt so at home. It was like having Thanksgiving dinner with your family. I am still in awe of that night and all the love, peace, and unity that Holy Spirit brought to us.
Friday was also quite spectacular, because we had Christmas!!! We are celebrating the holidays we won't be around for, incase you did not notice. We are not just a bunch of confused weirdos. At least most of us aren't. We did in fact do Secret Santa and it was a blast! We all dressed up, ate a bunch of delicious snacks, drank hot chocolate, and opened presents. I kid you not, I was shaking with excitement. I received watercolors, paint brushes, and chocolate from my Secret Santa, who turned out to be my school director, which to me is pretty funny and it would be to you too if you knew him. He's a real character and I am so blessed to know him, but there's just no way he would've known what to get me without the help of my friends. Friday was filled with Christmas joy. Try celebrating Christmas not on December 25th, it is even more fun.
This weekend was fan-flipping-tastic, because the world's greatest boyfriend came to visit me!!!! It was amazing and if you're bored and want to see pictures, go look on Facebook. Let me know if your heart melts, I know mine does everytime I look at them! Okay, done with the cheesiness. It was truly a blast though. We walked around the strip, Freemont, and rode the New York New York roller coaster! I may or may not have screamed like a little girl, but so did he. The weekend was filled with laughs and love and we got to celebrate Christmas together! He also brought me Glam Doll donuts, what a guy.
This was in fact my last week of lectures. Crazy how time flies.
